The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most popular and storied teams in the NBA.
They also have LeBron James, so they're arguably the hottest team in the league right now.
That being said, NBA legend Paul Pierce doesn't think the team's head coaching vacancy is an attractive job.
Pierce, via FS1's Undisputed: “Based on the makeup of this roster, I'd say it's about a three. I don't see this as a long-term job. If you look at LeBron, he'll probably be there a year or two. And then once he leaves, they'll trade Anthony Davis and embark on a complete rebuild. For example, they'll get JJ Redick and he'll be the coach. It's not good to rebuild in Los Angeles.”
The Lakers finished last season as the seventh seed in the Western Conference (beating the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament).
The Lakers reached the Western Conference Finals in 2023 but lost in five games to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
After a disappointing year, the Lakers Fired Darvin Ham and the whole coaching staff.
Whoever becomes the Lakers' next head coach will be a big focus heading into next season.
Pierce is a Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players of all time.
He played 19 seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers.
