Nine games are scheduled for Wednesday, with several strong matchups and several scenarios where a short-term role expansion would likely result in a player making more than his current salary.
As always, we'll highlight multiple advantageous position combinations that can be utilized at each position in the Yahoo Fantasy lineup. We'll also highlight three strong candidates that you might want to avoid based on a combination of situation and salary.
guard
Luka Doncic, DAL vs. GSW ($60): Sometimes the highest-paid players just happen to be worth every penny, and that was the case with Doncic on Wednesday. The out-of-this-world point guard recently topped 60 Yahoo Points and has topped that point in eight straight games. This sample includes his 75 points and his 84.8 points on Yahoo Points, where he also scored 74.3 points against the Suns two games before the start of that period. Additionally, Doncic scored 65.6 Yahoo Points the last time he played against the Warriors on Dec. 30, and with Stephen Curry (ankle) out Wednesday, Golden State remains short on players in the backcourt. It is continuing.
Chris Paul, GSW, DAL ($21): Speaking of Curry, his replacement Paul had some very impressive returns in his place in the first two games of his absence. The veteran guard has scored 37.3 and 43.8 Yahoo Points in those contests and is shooting 52.8 percent from the field over his last three games, including 40.0 percent from 3-point range. Considering Dallas ranks 22nd in offensive efficiency rating given to point guards (29.0) and has given up 50.1 Yahoo Points per game to the position over the last 15 games, the Mavs have a valuable salary. There is ample potential for further progress.

Guards to avoid
Terry Rozier, MIA vs. DEN ($39): Rozier's salary is unusually high for a player who has barely come close to achieving fantasy points per dollar at his current numbers since arriving in Miami. The veteran had one spike performance of 53.7 Yahoo Points against the Mavs on Thursday, but other than that he has scored less than 30 Yahoo Points in three of his past five games, 37.7 points in his previous games. I have never recorded more than points. heat. With a tough matchup against the defending champions coming up, this amount will be given a better allocation to the salary cap on Wednesday.
forward
Miles Bridges, Chao MEM ($38): Bridges continues to be one of the few bright spots on a short-staffed Hornets team, recently scoring 37.9 to 55.4 Yahoo Points over the last three games. Bridges has scored over 40 Yahoo points in his last six contests, two of which he has scored, justifying his current salary. The Grizzlies have been even more injured than Charlotte, and could very well be without Jaren Jackson (quadriceps) again on Wednesday, and Memphis already has a 3-point shooting percentage at power forward along with Western. He allowed a shooting percentage of 47.8%, including 38.6%. He averaged a conference-high 54.6 rebounds in all home games.
Michael Porter Jr., Den, MIA ($22): If both his recent performances and body of work in his first matchup against the Heat are any indication, Porter could be one of the best fantasy points-per-dollar plays of the night. The talented wing led Miami to 57.7 Yahoo Points with a 30-point, 11-rebound double-double at Ball Arena on Feb. 29 and then went 29.4 to 48 Yahoo Points in four of the next five games. . Same goes for games. Porter has shot 57.5% over that span, and the Heat are healthier this time around, allowing 43.7 Yahoo points per game to the small forward over the past seven games.
Also consider: Zion Williamson, NOP vs. CLE ($37)
avoid forward
Franz Wagner, ORL vs. BKN ($35): Like Rozier, Wagner is a talented player but hasn't played at a level worthy of Wednesday's salary. The young wing has scored under 34.6 Yahoo points in six of his last seven games, which is below the fantasy points per dollar threshold. Additionally, the least impressive part of that stretch has been recent, with Wagner scoring 27.6, 13.6, 20.8 and 25.8 Yahoo Points in four of his past five games. It's certainly not an outrageous matchup against the Nets, but with Wagner's salary they could have a better matchup.
Center
Domantas Sabonis, SAC vs. LAL ($48): Sabonis was also called up in this spot for a road game at Crypto.com Arena just a week ago. He scored 61 points in 38 minutes against the Lakers in that game before returning to play Wednesday at home for the same salary. Sabonis has also scored 66.9 points and 61 Yahoo Points in two of his next three games, and hasn't dipped below 50.2 Yahoo Points in a March contest. He's already proven his ability to thrive in matchups, and with one of the safest floors, Sabonis is worth the investment.
Kelly Olynyk, TOR, DET ($18): Olynyk continues to fill the starting center role in place of Jakob Poeltl (Finger) and is another player who could significantly exceed his salary on Wednesday. The floor-spacing veteran has been in great shape during his ongoing four-game starting stint, posting 31.7 to 43.7 Yahoo points in three of those games. Additionally, Olynyk scored 39.5 points and 24.8 Yahoo Points in the two games prior to that period, ranking 25th in offensive efficiency rating allowed to centers (35.1 points) and scoring 58.4 Yahoo Points per game. He was well worth a roster spot against a Pistons team that lost. I have placed in the last 15 contests.
Also consider: Deandre Ayton, POR vs. ATL ($24)
centers to avoid
Andre Drummond, CHI, IND ($25): Drummond is another example of a player who is overpaid for his recent accomplishments despite some eye-catching performances this season. The veteran big man has certainly opened eyes with his old-school rebounding efforts, scoring 40+ Yahoo points twice and 50+ points once in February, but in March… Returning to a bench role, he has held Yahoo points under 20 points for five years in a row. Drummond has played less than 20 minutes in each of the last three games, making him a bit of a risk considering his salary.
