The Minnesota Timberwolves won 126-109 on Friday night, one game away from an overwhelming victory over the Phoenix Suns.
The Timberwolves dominated the series, winning the first three games by double digits. It also marked the first time in series history that Minnesota held a 3-0 lead.
While the Timberwolves have been outstanding, the Suns haven't been as competitive. Minnesota didn't do well against Phoenix, but now the Suns could be nearing the end of their playoff run sooner than they had hoped.
After the loss, Fund slammed star forward Kevin Durant and the Suns for their lackluster efforts in the first three games.
The Suns lost Game 3 and are on the brink of elimination. To advance to the second round, they will have to do something no team has ever done before and overcome a 3-0 deficit. It's a nearly impossible challenge, but it starts with Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal stepping up.
The Timberwolves' performance certainly deserves praise. They proved they were the top team in the West throughout the regular season and further asserted that point throughout the first round.
Minnesota may not be a Finals contender yet, but they are one game away from winning their first playoff series since 2004.
The Timberwolves will look to defeat the Suns in Game 4 on Sunday at 9:30 p.m. ET.
