March Madness is almost over, with only a few days left until April's Final Four contests.
The NBA draft candidate could accomplish a lot in terms of stock in the rounds of 64, 32, and the Sweet 16. But several more are paving the way further.
Here are some prospects to watch in tonight's Elite Eight game.
No. 1 UConn vs. No. 3 Illinois — Donovan Clingan, Stephon Castle, Terrence Shannon Jr.
The matchup between top seeded University and No. 3 Illinois State will undoubtedly be one of the best games of the tournament. As many as four first-round picks are in contention.
The best are the Huskies' 7-footer Donovan Clingan and guard/wing hybrid Stephon Castle. So far, both schools have been pivotal to UConn's chances of reappearing in the NCAA Tournament, and he hopes to keep his stock rising.
Illinois guard Terrence Shannon has been one of the best players so far in March, averaging 28.3 points and shooting 60% overall and 38% from deep. .
There will definitely be fireworks tonight when the two giants collide.
No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 6 Clemson — P.J. Hall, Grant Nelson
Nelson had his ups and downs in the draft world, but won the Sweet 16 with 24 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks. It may be some time before he becomes a bona fide NBA player, but all it takes is one team to fall in love with his 7-foot talent to pull the trigger.
However, Nelson's opponent in tonight's Elite Eight is P.J. Hall, and it won't be an easy matchup. The 6-foot-10 forward is averaging over 17 points per game this season and is getting more comfortable with each tournament game.
