RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — richmond kickers and Richmond Ivy Soccer Club The National Women's Soccer League has announced that it will return to City Stadium for Summer Cup matches in July.
During the Richmond Kickers' home game against Spokane Velocity FC on Saturday, April 20, the Richmond Kickers and Richmond Ivy Soccer Club competed against the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and LIGA at City Stadium. It has been announced that the MX Femenil Summer Cup will be held.
The NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup game at City Stadium will be held on July 31st between the Washington Spirit and Chicago Red Stars.
The NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Tournament will feature all 14 NWSL clubs and the six teams with the most points from the 2023 LIGA MX Femenil Clausura and Apertura, according to a Richmond Kickers spokesperson. It's planned.

According to a spokesperson, the game between the Spirit and Red Stars will be the first time NWSL teams have played in Richmond since 2018, when the Spirit faced the North Carolina Courage in a preseason match at City Stadium in March 2018. This will be the first time.
Advance tickets for the July 31st game will go on sale to Washington Spirit season ticket members and City Stadium+ members at noon on Monday, May 6th. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, May 9th.
