Nate Diaz has responded to the news that Conor McGregor won over $1 million for his win over Jorge Masvidal.

The Irishman made headlines after announcing he would bet $500,000 on former opponent Nate Diaz to beat Jorge Masvidal in a “Last Man Standing” boxing match.
Working on 'XMcGregor said:
“I'm betting $500,000 that Diaz will win tonight's boxing match. Distance, form, experience, it's all hands on deck, so I don't think Masvidal will have any trouble with Nate in a boxing ring. They're both trashy idiots who mess around in fights, but I think Nate will beat him really easily here. That $500,000 will set you back $1.625 million.”
Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) faced Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) at UFC 196 in March 2016 and again at UFC 202 in August of the same year. “The Notorious” McGregor lost the first bout but won the second. There was no trilogy matchup.
Nate Diaz faced off against Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match that took place last Saturday, July 6th, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The result was a majority decision victory for Diaz.
Diaz and Masvidal (35-17 MMA) previously faced off under the UFC banner in November 2019 at UFC 244. That bout resulted in a TKO victory for “Gamebred” and his first-ever Baddest Motherf*cker title.
Following Diaz's victory last weekend, McGregor also won the $1.6 million bet on the bout, making it a win-win for both fighters.
Nate Diaz responded in his post-fight press conference:
“That's awesome. Good job for us.”
McGregor also spoke about “X” following Diaz's victory:
“The rich get richer!!! Well done Nate, congratulations!” I make enough money for you to swim!
