Nashville, Tenn. (July 8, 2024) – The Nashville Soccer Club, in conjunction with the United States Soccer Federation, announced today that defender Walker Zimmerman has been selected to represent the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as a member of the U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team.
The U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team will begin group stage play against hosts France on Wednesday, July 24 at 2 pm CST, followed by matches against New Zealand on July 27 at 12 pm CST and Guinea on July 30 at 12 pm CST. All group stage matches will be broadcast live on USA Network and Telemundo and streamed on Peacock.
A native of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Zimmerman has represented the United States 42 times on the international stage, recording three goals and two assists. In 2022, Zimmerman was a key member of the United States Men's National Team's (USMNT) 2022 FIFA World Cup™ squad, helping lead his country to the Round of 16 with four appearances and three starts. Additionally, he was a member of the USMNT's 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup winning team and runner-up in the 2019 Gold Cup.
Since joining Nashville SC in a trade with Los Angeles Football Club in February 2020, Zimmerman has appeared in 117 regular season games, recording 13 goals and six assists. He has started eight playoff games and has appeared in 12 non-league games across all competitions for the Boys in Gold (Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, League Cup and CONCACAF Champions Cup), recording two goals and one assist.
