NFA Field Hockey Coach Emily Murray
NORWICH — Emily Murray has been named field hockey coach at Norwich Free Academy after serving as head coach of the East Lyme field hockey team for two seasons.
“We are excited to have Emily take over our program,” NFA athletic director Roy Wentworth said in a press release Monday. “She knows our kids, our league and our sport. She will be a great leader for our student-athletes.”
Murray, who teaches physical education and health at NFA, previously served as the Wildcats' assistant field hockey coach, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant girls tennis coach. She replaces Noelle Fuhr.
“I am excited and ready to go,” Murray said in a statement. “I am excited to work with the students at NFA. The field hockey program is a great opportunity to grow within our community, and I look forward to bringing my passion for field hockey and athletics to the program.”

• The Mystic Schooners got a two-run lead in the top of the ninth on a leadoff home run by Cody Miller (East Tennessee State University), but fell to a 4-3 defeat in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game at Vermont.
Miller and Maddix D'Arena (UConn) each had two hits for the Mystics (10-11), who return home to face the North Shore Navigators on Tuesday. Miller also had a triple.
Nick Falter (Denison University) earned the win for Vermont (15-5), allowing just two hits in five innings with eight strikeouts and one walk.
