Missouri Military Academy (MMA) holds annual meeting american boy scout Merit Badge University on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

At the opening ceremony, Mixed Martial Arts Cadet and Eagle Scout Mason Brooks led the Scout Oath, and Mixed Martial Arts President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci (Ret.) welcomed attendees.
“Scouting is very important, especially in our country today,” Geraci said.
He commented on the similarities between Scouting and the Missouri Military Academy, noting that the Scout oath, laws, motto, and even the Scout slogan are closely aligned with the core values of mixed martial arts and the academy's character and leadership development program. He pointed out that he was doing so.
He commented on the importance of the academy maintaining a close relationship with the Boy Scouts to support and promote a coordinated mission, and said that scout troops should be able to access campgrounds, trails, lakes, and indoor facilities.
“I have spent the past 20 years working with young men and women as an educator and before that spent 30 years in the Army. I have seen firsthand the positive difference Scouting makes in the lives of young people.” Geraci spoke to the scouts in attendance on March 23. It's very important. ”
At the annual MMA Merit Badge University, Scouts, including cadets from MMA's Boy Scout Troop 1889, complete their badges with the assistance of MMA staff, faculty, and local/regional Scout volunteers. To earn their badges, scouts participated in events throughout MMA's 288-acre campus, from rappelling towers to indoor pools to rifle ranges and horse stables. As part of the experience, many scout troops also camped on campus.
