Montana Tech University announced its Class of 2024 honors this week. Valedictorian honors are awarded for academic excellence toward the Associate of Applied Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. The Bachelor of Science Valedictorian Award is awarded to the graduating student who achieved the highest overall grade point average during their time at Montana Tech. Recipients must have earned their first bachelor's degree and completed all credits at Montana Tech University. The 2024 valedictorian is Bree Birkenbühl, Occupational Safety and Health. Tyler Steele, biological sciences; Dylan Yager, mechanical engineering, and Sarah Wolgenant, nursing.
The Associate of Applied Science Valedictorian Award is awarded to the graduating student who has achieved the highest overall grade point average over the years of study toward the first Associate of Applied Science degree. Recipient must have completed all credits at Highland University. The 2024 Associate Professor of Applied Science Valedictorian is her Aubree Corcoran of Radiology Technology. Kylia Kliner, radiology technology; and Juliana Croston, radiology technology.
The university also awarded the 2024 Arts and Sciences Outstanding Scholarship Award to Tyler Steele in Biological Sciences and Sarah Wolgenant in Nursing.
Montana Tech also announced the recipients of the Chester H. Steele Honor Award. The Chester H. Steele Honor Award is awarded to recognize outstanding graduates who have achieved the highest academic achievement in the field of engineering. The 2024 recipient is Dylan Yarger, mechanical engineering.
The 2nd Annual Chester H. Steele Award is awarded to outstanding mining/geology graduates selected on the basis of academic achievement. The 2024 recipient is Mackenzie Jones in geological engineering.
The Montana Society of Engineers also announced the 2024 Gold Medal Award winners. For nearly 100 years, the Montana Society of Engineers has presented this award to outstanding engineering graduates from Montana Tech University. The 2024 recipient is Coby Martin, civil engineering.
