Mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen claims that Vince McMahon offered pushes to both male and female WWE superstars in exchange for sex, and Sonnen names Shawn Michaels in his allegations.
Appearing on the FLAGRANT podcast, Sonnen reiterated what he said on The Jim Rome Show when the lawsuit was filed against McMahon.
“I've never met Vince, but I know 11 people he's slept with, eight women. All consenting adults. The rest were men, which is true. It was no joke. Jim wouldn't do it. It was too hot,” Sonnen said.
“I was surprised when Vince got pushed out of the industry over #metoo, but I can't imagine he won't be able to come back, no matter how good he is. Once men start coming out, it's a different story,” Sonnen warned.
Sonnen explained what was going on at the panel.
“He cared more about their careers than the women. It was the same thing. They got paid more, they got pushed more. This is not an industry secret. I'm not being mean. I'm not being mean at all. This is very well known. Shawn Michaels, people you know, there was a lot going on…” he said.
“Was he hanging out with Shawn Michaels?” the host asked with a laugh.
“… or whatever it was, they had a relationship. You're probably wondering if I was doing any of that, but I'm not,” Sonnen said.
Sonnen also mentioned Scott Hall by name, but did not explain why or in what context he mentioned him.
“There were a lot of gay people that Vince met, but there were also straight men who just wanted to get ahead in the business. That led to prostitution. It was well known. It wasn't just Vince. It was Pat Patterson and other executives too,” Sonnen alleged.
In February this year, Paul Roma also alleged that McMahon had targeted men who worked for the company.
“They were asked to do things they didn't want to do, including my ex-partner,” Roma said. “When I was in the Young Stallions, one of my ex-partners got asked. He went to one of our agents and told them what had happened. I said, 'Why would you do that? You just snitched on us.' He kind of betrayed us, because we were just starting out.”
Roma also spoke about why women come forward and men don't.
“I'm surprised no one has come forward, but on the other hand, they're at an age where they're probably married and have kids and don't want to open Pandora's box. I can't blame them,” Roman said.
