For those of you who haven't been following the events of UFC 303, here's a quick recap.
No one really knows what's going on with Conor McGregor's return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler, but something is definitely going on. It seems like every time I refresh Twitter there's a new post about whether the fight will go ahead or not. I've blogged about my anxiety that the fight was cancelled, my relief that it was still scheduled, and my ultimate despair that it'll all be over in a week.
Fast forward to today and we now receive a very negative update from Ariel Helwani….
There is also a very confusing/mocking post from Michael Chandler….
…But there was complete silence from the UFC.
Helwani seems intent on waiting until there's a new main event to replace it before announcing the cancellation of the main event. It could be Michael Chandler vs. Charles Oliveira II, or it could be a different fight entirely. – But things aren't looking good for McGregor's return. He was injured in training camp (no one's reporting it yet). He tried his best to push through it, but he couldn't. It's really tragic.

Meanwhile, Khamzat Chimaev will miss next weekend’s main event against Robert Whittaker as he is hospitalised with some sort of illness…
…And Ikram Aliskerov will take the place of Antonio Trocoli on Saturday. Cheer up, Khamzat.
Oh, and did I mention the co-main event at UFC 303 was terrible too?
Of course, Jamahal Hill vs. Carlos Ulberg is not as priceless as Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, but it's still a huge disappointment and stress for the UFC, who must now be struggling to restructure UFC 303 and present a card worthy of International Fight Week.
I'm super excited about the rumored Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopez fight, but honestly, it's hard to get excited about anything right now.

In the words of Fred Durst, one of the most beautiful lyricists of our generation: “Everything is a mess, everyone is the worst.”
I want them to announce the McGregor fight is off soon and put me out of this misery. It's cruel to drag us through this emotional rollercoaster. Good luck, Johnny…
On a lighter note, Ev and I just arrived in Connecticut for tonight's PFL bouts, and the card kicked off with a nut shot/knockdown combo…
Awesome. Feeling energized instantly. Thanks to the PFL for having us tonight. Look for us in the crowd at 9pm ET on ESPN/ESPN+!
