Williams looked directly at Chauvin, waved a canister of chemical spray at him and other bystanders, and expressed concern for Floyd, the complaint states.
In a video played during Chauvin's trial, Williams can be heard telling Chauvin to get off of Floyd and calling the officer a “faggot.” ToutaoAnother Minneapolis police officer, who was convicted of aiding and abetting Floyd's murder, placed his hand on Williams' chest, according to the filing. The martial artist claims he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after the incident and has endured pain, humiliation and treatment costs.
Mr. Chauvin is serving more than 22 years in prison for state charges stemming from Mr. Floyd's murder. He pleaded guilty to federal charges of violating the civil rights of a 46-year-old black man and was sentenced to 252 months in prison with credit for time served. The other officers involved were also convicted and are serving time in prison.
