Millbrook sophomore Jordan Davis took a free kick from about 30 yards out, bending the Heritage defense and hitting the outstretched arm of the keeper to break up a 1-1 win in the Wildcats' conference opener.
But the amazing finish wasn't over yet.
Davis buried the Huskies with a dagger from further out in the 75th inning, giving Millbrook a 3-1 victory and its fifth straight win.
Heritage took the lead in the battle of undefeated teams.
A few minutes into the game, Millbrook's Lauren Hollis left the goal and attempted a clearance, but couldn't connect. The ball rolled to Selah Jackson's feet and she scored the whole frame in front of her for a 1-0 lead.
Jackson has a team-high seven goals this season, including four in a win over West Forsyth nine days ago at the Brittany Soccer Showcase.
The Wildcats worked their way before the halftime break.
Gabriel Sadoski stole the ball from a Husky defender, creating a 2-on-1 chance. She combined with Caitlin Barnett for the equalizing goal in the 25th minute. The goal was Burnett's team-leading fifth of the season.
Fourteen minutes into the second half, Davis gave the Wildcats the lead for good. Her free kick increased Millbrook's advantage to 2-1.
With five minutes left, Abby Champlin forced a turnover at midfield, and Annaka Boyd deflected the ball back to Davis for a long-range strike.
The 3-1 victory was revenge for several close losses to Heritage a year ago. Millbrook already has a 5-0-1 record this season with non-conference wins over Cardinal Gibbons and Hough.
Davis' last two games gave him four goals this season and three in the last two games.
The Wildcats return home Wednesday to continue conference play against Rolesville. Thursday will see a big non-conference test on the road at Hunt.
Heritage is 4-1-2 overall and will play Knightdale on Wednesday and Holly Springs on Thursday night.
