Mike Tyson is relaxing at the Miami Open and taking a break from preparing for his match against Jake Paul.
The 57-year-old will face the influencer-turned-boxer on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The bout will also be the first boxing event to be broadcast on Netflix.
On Tuesday, Tyson was spotted enjoying some tennis action at Hard Rock Stadium.
A video posted by Sky Sports showed Tyson wearing his credentials as he waited to be ushered into his seat at the venue. Shortly after, Iron Mike took his seat and enjoyed the quarterfinal match between Vika Azarenka and Yulia Putintseva.
On March 13, Tyson shared a short training montage on social media, giving a first look at his preparation.
“It's day one. The fun is just beginning,” he says in the 10-second clip.
Paul holds a boxing record of 9-1 and is on a three-fight win streak, the last two coming via finishes. Paul enters the fight fresh off a first-round knockout win over Ryan Bolland on March 2nd.
The much older Tyson, on the other hand, held a professional record of 50-6 with 44 knockouts before retiring in 2005. Tyson returned to the ring in 2020 in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr., during which Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson. Sub-main event.
With a showdown between the two confirmed, Tyson becomes the biggest name on Paul's list of high-profile opponents. Paul is known for bringing retired athletes into the boxing ring to compete against each other, and this has been a problem for him for most of his career.
Paul has competed against Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz, all of which he has won. His only loss was against Tommy Fury in 2023.
