Mike Tyson once revealed the three cruel nicknames given to him before he began his boxing career.
Tyson is scheduled to return to the ring on July 20th to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, so there's a good chance you'll hear the boxing legend being called a few different nicknames. .
Over the years, the former world heavyweight champion has been given nicknames such as “Iron Mike,” “Kid Dynamite,” and “The Baddest Man on Earth.”
But there are three names that only the bravest would dare call Tyson to his face.
In his autobiography, Undisputed Truth, published in 2013, the boxer revealed the names of three people who were played by bullies during his childhood in Brooklyn, New York.
“I was scared to be inside the house, and I was scared to go outside,” Tyson reveals in the book.
“At that time, I went to public school and it was a nightmare. I was a stocky kid, very shy, almost effeminately shy, and spoke with a lisp.
“My children used to call me 'little fairy boy' because I was always playing with my sister. But my mother told me to stay with Denise, who was older than me. .
“They also called me 'Dirty Ike' and 'Dirty Motherf*****' because they didn't know about hygiene back then.”
Tyson explained that he was unable to take a shower because his parents' home did not have hot water and often did not have gas to heat water.
“My mother tried to teach me about it [hygiene] But she didn't do a very good job. She prepared some soap and filled a bucket with hot water to wash me.
“But when you're young, you don't care about hygiene. Eventually I learned it from older kids on the street. They taught me about Brut and Paco Rabanne. Ta.”
Tyson dropped out of school at the age of seven due to bullying, and by age 13 he had been arrested 38 times.
After discovering boxing, he dropped out of high school in his junior year and never looked back.
There have been concerns about Tyson, 58, fighting Paul, who is 31 years his junior, but the boxing icon is already busy training for his return to the ring.
