Mike Tyson is confident he can turn back a few years in his fight against Jake Paul and hand the YouTuber a defeat when they meet in the ring this summer
A topless Mike Tyson met with fans over the weekend, proving he is in incredible shape for his fight with Jake Paul.
Tyson, 58, is coming out of retirement to take on YouTuber Paul this summer in Texas. He is nearly 30 years older than his opponent and will go into the fight as the underdog.
But the heavyweight legend shows no signs of slowing down, posting videos of his heated training sessions and appearing topless in front of fans. Tyson said this while signing autographs and posing for photos last weekend. “I don't need a shirt. I have to show them what they're betting on! I want to show off how good I look and how good I am!”
Tyson also appeared to be in shape for his final bout in 2020, an exhibition match against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr. But then, in what was Tyson's first fight since quitting, Tyson looked slow and heavy as his rivals “battled” to a boring draw. A flight after the fifth round of his last professional fight against Kevin McBride in 2005.
Paul, on the other hand, has won nine of his 10 professional fights, with his only loss coming against Tommy Fury last year. Most recently, he knocked out Ryan Bolland in the first round, marking his sixth stoppage in the paid ranks.
But Paul, who claims to have serious world title ambitions, took a break from his mixed martial arts career to face boxing legend Tyson. He has faced heavy criticism for agreeing to fight the older fighter, but insists it will be an even fight.
“It's very 50/50. I say to those who don't think I can win, I'm younger, faster, sharper and can hit at the same level as him and his punches “I can accept it,” he said. And Tyson also lashed out at the event's critics, saying, “I'm 58 years old so what? I get billions of views just talking about the fight with someone. Everyone. , including most athletes, they're jealous. It's them.” ”
