Jake Paul, Mike Perry
Mike Perry has no interest in taking on Jake Paul. The BKFC champion fighter was called upon to face Jake Paul at short notice after Mike Tyson withdrew due to health issues. Leading up to the fight, Paul and Perry were both swearing at each other to hype up the bout. Perry will start the bout as an underdog. Despite being an MMA specialist, this will be Perry's second bout.
On the contrary, Jake Paul has a fair bit of boxing experience under his belt, with a 9-1 record. With wins over the likes of Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, Paul seems pretty confident he could beat Mike Perry with ease. And maybe that's why Jake Paul came up with the odd bet.
Mike Perry denies Jake Paul's 'W tattoo' plan
Jake Paul challenged Mike Perry to get a “W” tattooed on his face if he lost the match. In return, he was prepared to fight Perry in the BKFC ring if Jake Paul lost. This may seem like a unique gamble, but Mike Perry wasn't up for it. He flatly rejected the idea, calling Jake Paul a “little brat” and promising to beat him.
Mike Perry, who rejected Paul's bet, said, “I'm not getting any more tattoos. I haven't had a tattoo in 10 years. I dedicated them to God. So f*ck your tattoo bet. I'm not taking your bet. I'm here to sign a check and kick your ass, Jake. I'm here for your ass, Jake.”
The denial didn't sit well with Jake Paul, who fired back at his recent opponent and said Perry didn't accept the fight because he lacked confidence, but Mike Perry found an unexpected ally to help him out.
Conor McGregor voices support for Mike Perry
Conor McGregor has recently been beefing up his betting on a Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul fight. Before the fight, Perry called Paul's punches “baby green” and said that Paul's attempts to inflict damage would be unsuccessful because Perry is used to striking with his bare hands. Instead, Mike Perry promised to “gouge” Paul's eyeballs and make him suffer.
Conor McGregor, who acquired a majority stake in BKFC, couldn't help but comment. “The Notorious” expressed his support for Mike Perry on social media. McGregor thanked Perry for his words and posted, “@bareknucklefc here we come!” So, things are heating up and it will be interesting to see who has the last laugh on July 20th.
