Tempeh – Sun Devil HockeyHead coach Greg Powers announced the hiring of Mike Corbett as an assistant coach to bolster the Arizona State bench in preparation for the team's inaugural season in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). Corbett will officially join the Arizona State team on Monday, July 8.
Corbett recently completed his third season as an assistant coach for the Quinnipiac Bobcats. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the Bobcats' postseason success, including a national championship in 2023. In his other two seasons at Hamden, the team won an NCAA tournament game and advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals.

Over the past three seasons at Quinnipiac, Corbett helped the Bobcats go to a 93-21 record, 8 ties and won the Cleary Cup for the second consecutive year as ECAC regular season champions. The Bobcats were the top scoring defense in the nation during Corbett's two seasons at Quinnipiac and finished in the top four in scoring offense each of the past two seasons.

Prior to Hamden, he was an assistant coach at Robert Morris where he coached three AHA All-League selections, two All-Rookie selections and the league's Rookie of the Year, Defenseman and Co-Player of the Year.
Prior to Coach Robert Morris, Corbett served as head coach at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for eight seasons, where he oversaw the rebuild of a program that had been defunct in 2011 and led to three playoff appearances, the program's first playoff win, a win over a top-10 opponent and multiple all-league selections. Under Coach Corbett, the program had 46 All-WCHA Academic selections and underwent two renovations to upgrade locker room amenities and construct a state-of-the-art weight room facility.
Corbett's first experience in college hockey was as the assistant/associate head coach at Air Force, where he worked for 10 seasons, winning five tournament championships and subsequent NCAA Tournament appearances, and he coached and recruited the only Hobey Baker Hat Trick finalist in Air Force history, four All-Americans, three Player of the Year players and 19 All-Conference selections.
In addition to his many years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, Corbett also has experience with USA Hockey, where he coached the 15, 16 and 17 year old National Festival for 23 years and will head to Switzerland in August as an assistant coach for the USA Five Nations U-17 team.
Corbett earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Denver in 1996. He was the recipient of the Daniels School of Business Administration's Executive Leadership Award during his senior year and earned his Master of Business Administration in 1998. A two-time co-captain at Denver, Corbett was also a finalist for the NCAA Hockey Humanitarian Award in 1997.
