Ann Arbor, Michigan – A member of Michigan's national championship team has reportedly retired from football just weeks after signing with the Green Bay Packers.
Trente Jones spent five seasons in Ann Arbor, winning three Big Ten titles and one national championship.

Jones spent most of his magical three years at Michigan as a versatile depth piece and sixth lineman, but he missed the Big Ten Championship Game as a redshirt senior due to an injury to Zach Ginter during the game. He will be a starter in the College Football Playoff. Ohio State University game.
Jones is perhaps best known for grabbing the Block M flag and waving it in the end zone at Ohio Stadium after the University of Michigan clinched the second of three straight wins over the Buckeyes.
He was a key part of Michigan's offensive line, winning back-to-back Joe Moore Awards in 2021 and 2022, and was a key member of the program's first 15-0 season in 2023.
Jones went undrafted last month but signed with the Packers as a free agent. The Packers would have the right to sign him if he chooses to return to the NFL.
The Packers have placed undrafted rookie OL Trente Jones from Michigan State on the reserve/retired list.
They claimed DL Spencer Wage off waivers from the 49ers.
