UFC welterweight prospect Michael Morales will compete.
The unbeaten Ecuadorian is scheduled to face veteran Neil Magny at the UFC Fight Night event on August 24 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
MMA Junkie has confirmed with multiple people with knowledge of the matchup that the two have verbally agreed to the bout, who requested anonymity because the UFC has yet to make an official announcement about the bout.
Morales (16-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has yet to taste defeat in his professional MMA career. The 25-year-old defeated Jake Matthews via unanimous decision in November 2023. Morales has been sidelined due to injury but is currently training and healthy.
Magny recently completed his 40th professional fight and continues to face the younger contenders in the division. His most recent bout was a TKO win over promising fighter Mike Marotte in January, which is shaping up as one of the best comebacks of 2024.
With this addition, UFC's August 24 lineup now looks as follows:
- Bruno Ferreira vs. Roman Kopylov
- Gerald Meerschaert vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
- Denis Buzkuca vs. Danny Silva
- Jose Medina vs. Zach Reese
- Viacheslav Borshev vs. James Lontop
- Jacqueline Cavalcanti vs. Josiane Nunes
- Felipe dos Santos vs. Andre Lima
- Neil Magny vs. Michael Morales
