UFC 302 will take place on Saturday, June 1st at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The main event will feature a lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev (25-1 MMA) and Dustin Poirier (30-8 MMA).

“Islam has the advantage in wrestling, grappling, strength and size, so I honestly think Islam will finish him off. This is a title fight that Islam is more familiar with.”
Continuing, “Iron” said (h/t MMAJunkie):
“Poirier and I have a history. Poirier hates me. I sleep well at night knowing that. Poirier is very good, but with that said, Islam does not believe in his ability. There is.”
Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler faced off at UFC 281 in November 2022, where “The Diamond” defeated “Iron” by submission.
As for Chandler, he will finally have his long-awaited match against Conor McGregor (22-6 mixed martial arts) at UFC 303 on Saturday, June 29th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. .
