Michael Bisping has named the next UFC fighter he would like to face Michael Page.
Page, a former Bellator star who became a free agent, later signed with the UFC in December 2023.
It was at UFC 299 that Michael Page (22-2 MMA) made his promotional debut against Kevin Holland (25-11 MMA) in a welterweight bout. The result was a unanimous decision victory for Venom.
Michael Bisping took to his YouTube channel to share his thoughts on who he would like to see the 36-year-old Page fight next.
“Ian Machado Garry is sixth. I think he jumped over Michael Page into a battle for sixth place with Ian Machado Garry.”
Undefeated Ian Machado-Galley (14-0 MMA) is on a roll after scoring a split decision victory over Jeff Neal (15-6 MMA) at UFC 298 in February of this year.
Continuing, the 45-year-old UFC commentator said (h/t MMAJunkie):
“As a fan, I want to see that match. They're both very tall. Ian Garry is 6'3″ and Michael Page is 6'3″. They're both strikers. They wrestle. I don't think so. You're going to see two very talented strikers pitching, and it's going to be a lot of fun.”
In conclusion, Michael Bisping believes the winner of Page/Galley will next fight current welterweight champion Leon Edwards (22-3 MMA).
“The winner of the fight between Michael Page and Ian Garry could end up fighting Leon Edwards in a British stadium, can you imagine that? For all these reasons, Ian Garry, Michael Garry Paige, take my money and sign for me.”
The 32-year-old “Rocky” is on a winning streak, but his last loss was a unanimous decision to Kamaru Usman (20-4 mixed martial arts) in December 2015.
Do you agree with Bisping that the next fight for the UFC is Michael Page vs. Ian Garry?
