Micah Parsons may not be participating in the Dallas Cowboys’ voluntary off-season workouts, but he’s still putting in work — in his own unique way.
In a video posted on TikTok last week, the All-Pro edge rusher went shot-for-shot with professional boxer AJ Graham. The two athletes took turns punching each other in the gut until one tapped out.
Spoiler alert: Parsons didn’t last long. Parsons bowed out after taking just one hit to the gut. But he got two in on his opponent!
Parsons shouted in pain after Graham punched him, while others laughed in the background. After he bailed on taking a second hit, Graham teased him: “What do you mean?”
Graham has posted videos of himself playing the game with several other athletes recently, including Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper and former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy.
Last off-season, Parsons started boxing to enhance his game.
“I would say I’m a lot more dangerous, especially inside, working inside, especially when [offensive lineman are] We can attack much faster than on the outside,” Parsons said. dallas morning news About his new method of boxing. “So I feel like that really helped with my inner rush and stuff.”
And perhaps there's something to that. In 17 games last season, the three-time Pro Bowler set career highs in sacks (14) and QB hits (33). He also finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting, behind Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker TJ Watt and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.
It's unclear how receiving a straight gut punch will affect the football field, but we'll probably find out this fall.
