Can Mexico end its 48-year Olympic drought in this year's FIBA Olympic Qualifiers?
Mexico will have a tough time competing against teams like Italy, Lithuania or Puerto Rico, as they lack the talent to compete in the tournament, but they have built a strong team in past tournaments, spearheaded by veterans like Gabriel Giron and Paul Stoll.
With Lithuania's Jonas Valanciunas unable to participate in the tournament, Mexico will be looking to make an impressive run through the group stage and secure an Olympic berth.
Here's everything you need to know about Mexico's schedule and roster in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

When are the FIBA Olympic Qualifiers?
- date: July 2 (Tue) – July 7 (Sun)
Countries participating in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) will begin group play this week, with the top two teams from each group then competing in the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will then meet in the final round to secure a spot in the Paris Olympics.
Eight men's basketball teams have already qualified for the Olympics. The four OQTs will be the “last chance” for other teams to qualify. The four OQT winners (Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico, and Spain) will join the eight teams already scheduled to compete in Paris.
