The pair, who are set to become unrestricted free agents from the Rangers, are reportedly looking to play overseas. Molly Walker of the New York Post reports that the winger Tyler Pytlik and Nick Petain He may end up playing in Europe next season. Pytlik has played for seven teams over the last six years, but cleared waivers midway through the season, playing in the AHL for the first time since 2015-16. With a two-way offer likely being his best bet this summer, now may be the perfect time to try playing overseas. Meanwhile, Pétain has played in the NHL for nine consecutive years, but has been a full-time AHL player for the past few seasons. If he stays in North America, that's likely to continue for the foreseeable future, so it would make a lot of sense for him to move across the ocean if he wants a change.
