MONTREAL (AP) — CF Montreal's Mathias Coccaro came on as a replacement for Ariel Lassiter in the 62nd minute and scored in the 79th minute in a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night.
Luan Gregorio Teixeira (known as “Luan”) made a perfect pass into the center of the penalty area for Coccaro to head in. Coccaro, who has four goals this season, scored his first goal since scoring two in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Fire on March 16.
Vancouver's Brian White scored his third consecutive goal in the 29th minute to give the Whitecaps a 1-0 lead when Ryan Gauld near the left sideline sent a low pass to the near post, which White slotted in for the goal. Rising One-Touch Shot They scored the opening goal in the 29th minute.
White's streak began on June 29 when he scored three goals in a 4-3 win over St. Louis City. It was his second career hat trick and his first since 2021. With 10 goals this season, the 28-year-old has now reached double figures in two consecutive seasons and has done so in three of the past four seasons.
Montreal (5-9-8-8), which had 58 percent ball possession, conceded one or fewer goals for just the second time in its past eight games.
Jonathan Sirois had three saves for Montreal.
Yohei Takaoka stopped two shots for the Whitecaps.
