In a truly surprising turn of events, Jake Paul will not be facing heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on July 20 as originally expected. Instead, Paul will face fearsome mixed martial artist and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fighter Mike Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing bout at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Paul was originally scheduled to fight Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but the bout had to be rescheduled after an unexpected ulcer recurrence put Tyson's health in jeopardy. This decision was made with the best interests of both fighters and their health in mind.
Paul, who has a 9-1 record with six knockouts, has set a new date for the Paul vs. Tyson fight on November 15th. But before that happens, Paul will first step into the ring against Perry, who has a 0-1 record. The high-stakes event will be titled “Fear No Man” and will be available on DAZN.
The upcoming five-bout card is taking shape, with Ashton Silve (11-0, 9 KOs) set to face Lucas Badi (16-0, 14 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout, while former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will return to the ring to face UFC middleweight Urijah Hall.
Mike Perry has offered words of encouragement to Paul for his indomitable spirit and unwavering determination, telling TMZ Sports that he plans to beat Paul “by gritting his teeth” and predicts he will knock him out.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Predictions
Alexander Gustavsson: Perry can knock out Paul
Alexander Gustafsson, a veteran UFC light heavyweight from Sweden, told Crypto Sports Betting: “Mike Perry is brutal, he puts pressure on you, he gets in your face, he's a fighter that doesn't give you time to breathe. He messes you up, he's a tough guy, he found his fighting style as a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fighter and he beats anybody. Jake Paul has proven he can box, he's in good form, he's a hard puncher, but it could go either way, but he probably won't last.”
Michael Bisping: Paul made a mistake
Bisping told talkSPORT: “Mike Perry is a fighter. Mike Perry wasn't necessarily the best jiu-jitsu practitioner or the best wrestler, but there's no fight Mike Perry wouldn't take. He's the epitome of a true fighter. He's an absolute star in the bare-knuckle organization. I think Jake Paul made a big mistake here. [Perry] “He's a real fighter. He's in shape, he's not afraid to get in the mix, and he'll go head to head with Jake Paul.”
Sean O'Malley: Paul beats Perry
“I think Jake Paul will beat Mike Perry. I think it's a more competitive match,” O'Malley said on the Timbosugar Show recently. [Mike Tyson] “It's a little old and weathered, but I think Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul will be a very interesting and very competitive fight. Probably Jake will be the most competitive outside of Tommy Fury. I'm very interested to see… It's a hard fight to predict. Mike will be there but he's bare-knuckle, it's a different sport. Different size, different space to fight, different distances, very similar but very different. Jake has been boxing and Mike has been bare-knuckle boxing.”
