Brother Martin High School announced that Matt Millett has been named the next varsity head coach of the Crusader soccer program. He has most recently served as the head soccer coach at Holy Cross School since 2014.
During that time, Millet's teams won the LHSAA soccer state championship five times, including the 2024 state title game, where they defeated Ben Franklin 2-1 on Feb. 23. Millet was recently named the Times-Picayune/NOLA.com Large Schools Coach of the Year. .
“I am pleased to introduce Matt Millett as the leader of the Crusader football program. Matt has achieved success at every turn of his professional career. He has demonstrated how to build a program for sustained success. And he is an incredible inspiration to young people. His holistic approach to teaching young people is consistent with the educational traditions of Brothers of the Sacred Heart and Brother Martin High School. We look forward to his leadership at Brother Martin,” said Ryan Gallagher, Class of 2000.
In addition to his teams winning five LHSAA state championships, Milley has won the LHSAA Coach of the Year award five times. His teams have racked up more than 250 total wins over his 18-year career with Holy Cross, St. Martins and Grace King. Millet graduated from De La Salle High School in 1994, led the Cavaliers to the football state championship in 1994, and was inducted into the De La Salle Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

We are certainly attracted to Matt's success as a coach. “I was truly impressed by his energy and passion for high school football and the Catholic League tradition, and Brother Martin's place in that tradition.
