Martial arts director Jung Doo-hong will star in the new film in the action movie series “John Wick” (2014-).
According to industry sources, Chung has already wrapped filming “John Wick: Ballerina,” in which his role has yet to be revealed.
“John Wick: Ballerina” is scheduled to be released on June 6, 2025. The film will depict the events that took place between “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019) and “John Wick: Chapter 4” (2023).
“John Wick: Ballerina” is directed by Len Wiseman, who also directed the “Underworld” series (2003-2016) and “Die Hard 4.0” (2007). According to the Korea Box Office Information System (COBIS), “John Wick: Chapter 4” attracted about 1.92 million viewers in South Korea last year.
Jung has previously starred in director Ryoo Seung-wan's films “Arahan” (2004) and “Violence City” (2006).
Jung began his career in the Korean film industry as a stuntman in the 1990 film “Son of the General” and made his debut as a martial arts director in the 1992 film “Lynx.”
Chung coordinated the action scenes for the Korean action blockbusters “Berlin File” (2013) and “Veteran” (2015), and also worked as a stuntman for actor Lee Byung-hun in the film “GI Joe: Retaliation” (2013).
