Manel Kape is responding to his loss to Mohammed Mokaev at UFC 304.
Some have argued that Kape could have deserved a decision win over Mokaev in a three-round bout where not much happened, but his complaint is not with the referee but with the submission attempts he made while defending a takedown. In two videos posted to Twitter on Monday, Kape demonstrated the submission attempts while claiming that Mokaev tapped out but the referee didn't call it.
“You can clearly see the moment Mokaev tapped,” Cape wrote. “The same ref warned him before the fight that if he tapped or cheated he would end the match or take away the point. But what? #taporfaketapitstap.”

Mokaev eventually escaped the position and maintained control from the top.
The video evidence appears inconclusive, but Kape's argument that Mokaev should have been penalized for another takedown attempt earlier in the bout may be more persuasive.
Mokaev grabbed Kape's shorts to regain his footing after shoving him to the ground, prompting referee Mike Beltran to stop the bout, reprimanding Mokaev for his movement and taking his footing but not calling a penalty on the 23-year-old fighter.
Ultimately, Mokaev won by unanimous decision, improving his UFC record to 7-0.
UFC officials announced after the fight that Mokaev would not re-sign, so Kape likely will not have a chance to avenge his loss. UFC 304 was the final fight under Mokaev's contract, and UFC CEO Dana White made it clear after the fight that the company has no plans to bring Mokaev back.
Mokaev's UFC departure came after an ugly week in Manchester, when the unbeaten 23-year-old openly admitted to asking Kape to pose for a photo with him before his surprise attack that sparked a brawl at the hotel ahead of UFC 304.
