Iowa football continued to strengthen its offensive line on Sunday by calling up two freshmen from the class of 2025. Earlier in the day, Indianapolis guard Cameron Herron called up to the Hokies, and was later joined by St. Louis tackle Lucas Allgaier.
Those leaders participated in Iowa's big official visit weekend along with student-athletes who had previously pledged to the program and were top targets for the cycle, and their decisions gave Iowa State its first known 10 verbal pledges in 25 years.
Prep Redzone rates Allgeyer (6-foot-6, 280 pounds) as the No. 15 overall prospect in the state of Missouri this cycle. Every major scouting service views him as a three-star recruit, with the On3 Industry rankings grading him as the No. 31 offensive tackle in the country in 2025 and the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the No. 36 interior O-lineman.
Allgaier also took official visits to Northwestern and Kansas State and reported receiving scholarship offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (Florida), Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Washington.
Allgaier, a junior, is active on defense in his junior year highlight video, and in some clips of him playing on the offensive line for Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day, you can see how his athleticism, agility and quickness shine on that side of the ball.
