About No. 2 Louisiana Tech (45-17)
Louisiana Tech is fresh off a 17-10 loss to DBU in the CUSA championship game on Sunday in Ruston. The school is making its 11th NCAA Regional appearance in school history and the third time Louisiana Tech has made it to the Regional in the past four years.
LA Tech is 13-18 in the NCAA Tournament and 5-4 in regional opening rounds. The Bulldogs last appeared in the Austin Regional in 2022, going 1-2. LA Tech beat Dallas Baptist 12-5 before losing to ninth-ranked Texas (5-2) and Air Force (9-7).
LA Tech is one win away from tying the team record for most wins in a season, with 46, set in 1978 when Pat Patterson led the Bulldogs to a 46-21 record and an appearance in the NCAA Regional Tournament.
#3 Kansas State (33-24)
Kansas State lost to TCU, 9-4, in the Big 12 Conference Tournament. The Wildcats are batting .271 with a .426 slugging percentage and a .377 on-base percentage this season. Brady Day leads the team with a .332 batting average, a .997 OPS and 214 at-bats. Day also leads Kansas State with 53 RBI and 71 hits.
