COLORADO SPRINGS — This April, Calvary Family Martial Arts and Fitness will be offering free martial arts classes to students in several Colorado Springs neighborhoods.
This is part of Budo Studio's HOPE initiative. This program stands for “Helping Other People Elevate.” Starting in April, families with at least one elementary school-aged child in Districts 3, 11, 20 and 49 will receive a month of free classes at CFMAF Martial Arts in Colorado Springs. Families of active duty military and veterans can also register for free classes. Some of the lessons taught include child safety, kidnapping prevention, and self-defense. We spoke to Isaac Costley, owner of CFMAF Martial Arts. He says this is his way of giving back to the community.
“My wife and I grew up in families where we had to struggle. We didn't always have the money to do the things that other kids often did. You don't hear that often. CFMAF's goal is to It's about giving something to your family. You can say yes,” said Isaac Costley, owner of CFMAF Martial Arts studio.
If you would like to sign up for a month of free classes, you can do so online.
You must sign up before April 1st to be eligible, and you must attend a class during the first week of April to get your first month free. Here is the link to sign up.
