Boxing News 24 will bring you the results and live updates from the action tonight, including:
Clagett (38-7-2, 26 KOs) has suffered plenty of losses as a title challenger, but he still earned his spot by defeating unbeaten, highly ranked challengers. This bout is merely a stunt to cover up Teofimo's recent poor performance.
The main card will air at 10pm ET on ESPN+ and ESPN.
– Teofimo Lopez vs. Steve Clagett
– Robbie Ramirez vs. Brandon Benitez
Event details
Start Time: The Teofimo vs. Claggett event will begin at 9pm ET.
Channel: ESPN and ESPN+
In the main supporting bout, Olympic gold medalist Robbie Ramirez will face featherweight contender Brandon Benitez (21-2, 9 KOs) in a 10-round bout.
It's a must-win bout for former WBO 126-pound champion Robbie C. (13-2, 8 KOs), who upset Rafael Espinoza by a 12-round majority decision in his last bout on Dec. 9 in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Teofimo's Recent Struggles
Teofimo (20-1, 13 KOs) has had some big problems lately, struggling to win fights he should have dominated, but decisions saved his chances against Sandor Martin and Jermain Ortiz.
Lopez, 26, can't be allowed to perform like that tonight against Clagett, 34, because it would be evidence that there's nothing wrong with Teofimo's team. Teofimo can act like everything is fine, but it's not.
Aside from one poor performance against George Kambosos Jr., Teofimo has had several poor performances since that bout, with his only good performance coming against a well-beaten Josh Taylor.
