PARSIPPANY, N.J., June 04, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC)Lincoln Tech, a national leader in specialized technical training for more than 75 years, has entered into a workforce development partnership with Container Maintenance Corporation (CMC). Training will begin in June at CMC's headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina. The five-year agreement brings together one of the nation's leading career training schools with a leader in the $50 billion North American intermodal industry. Specially selected Lincoln Tech instructors will provide instruction to CMC's existing employees.
“Lincoln Tech recognizes the important role CMC plays in keeping the global maritime industry operating at peak capacity,” said Scott Shaw, president and CEO of Lincoln Tech. “We are honored to have the opportunity to help develop the company's next generation workforce. We are confident this partnership will greatly assist CMC in achieving its workforce goals and is an endorsement of how industry partners value Lincoln's excellence in delivering quality training and education programs.”
CMC technicians will gain advanced skills in trailers, shipping containers and transport freezers. Lincoln Tech's goal is to train approximately 800 CMC technicians over the next five years in eight key areas: electrical and lamps, tires and wheels, axles, couplers and hitches, frames, suspension, brakes, welding/fabrication, and general procedures and auxiliary equipment.
CMC's Charleston location was selected as the primary training site. It is the company's busiest location, employing more than 250 technicians. The training is designed to upskill CMC employees supporting operations in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The program will also be offered at CMC offices in Savannah, Georgia; Wilmington, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida, as well as 14 satellite locations.
“We are excited to partner with Lincoln Tech this year to develop an extensive training program for our nationwide maintenance and repair network,” said Michael Wojnowski, president of CMC's Carolinas operations. “Working with this organization will enable our team to provide the highest level of service and meet the expectations of our customers and the industry.”
CMC provides the equipment used during training, and the program follows a curriculum recommended by IANA (Intermodal Association of North America). Lincoln Tech graduates also have the opportunity to pursue careers with CMC and other companies within the Marino Group. Graduates of Lincoln Tech's Diesel and Truck Service Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Welding, Collision Repair and Refinishing, and Automotive Service Technology programs are all eligible for positions at CMC.
