Clifton Park, New York – After putting up career numbers for the Union University men’s hockey team this season, the senior liam robertson He has earned a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey Second Team for 2023-24, the conference announced Wednesday.
In ECAC hockey play, Robertson is tied for fifth in the conference with 10 points and tied for ninth in the conference with 21 points. Against conference opponents, Robertson is winning faceoffs at .588 and leads the conference with seven power play goals. The senior recorded five points (3-2-5) in weekend sweeps of Dartmouth and Harvard in January, scoring his first hat trick since 2017 at home against Colgate.
Overall, Robertson played in 32 games this season, scoring 23 points (10-13-23). Robertson is currently tied for fifth on Union's Division I all-time power play goals list.
Robertson is the first Union skater to earn a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team since Brandon Estes ’21 earned a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team for the 2021-22 season, and is named to the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team. He was the first player to earn the spot. They are the second team to win the award, after Alex Sakellaropoulos '17 and Jeff Taylor '17 won the award in 2016-17.
Union will be back in action Friday for a best-of-three ECAC hockey quarterfinal against Dartmouth College. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
