Northern Irish sensation Lewis Crocker is set to continue his welterweight offensive this weekend when he takes on tough opponent Kona Walker in Birmingham.
Crocker was just coming off a dominant performance over Jose Felix Jr., who had moved up a weight class after a shock win over fellow heavyweight Gary Curry last year.
That momentum will likely carry over into the match against West Midlands favourites Walker, so the Crocodiles will no doubt be expecting a hostile atmosphere come match time.
Lewis Crocker enters Saturday's action as a -500 favorite to win, a no-no with most bookmakers, while Kona Walker returns at +350.
Crocker's chances for world title loom large
Last December's bout against the more experienced Tyrone McKenna was his biggest test to date, but despite his talent many were unsure what to expect from Crocker in his first appearance on the main card at “The Battle of Belfast.”
But Crocker did not disappoint. Though the fight was merely a guess at who would win when the first bell rang, Crocker proved just how wrong those predictions were by thoroughly out-maneuvering McKenna in a one-sided 12-round contest.
A win here would set up a clash of two Irishmen with fellow unbeaten welterweight contender Paddy Donovan for a world title shot.
Kona Walker aims to silence critics
After suffering two losses in three fights between 2022 and 2023, Kona Walker's career seemed on the verge of collapse, and his next opponent, former welterweight prospect Silas Pattinson, was almost considered an easy target.
However, that “soft touch” didn't seem to translate, as Pattinson was outgunned and stopped by Walker in the eighth round, eventually leading to Pattinson's corner waving goodbye to the towel.
Walker will be looking to derail the plans of another unbeaten local prospect this weekend.

Despite having a seemingly overlooked knockout rate of just 38.46% in his career to date, Kona Walker has won without question, not only knocking him down three times against Pattinson, but also knocking down the previously unbeaten Lloyd Germain three times in his last fight.
Under the tutelage of Hall of Fame trainer Ricky Hatton, “The Wolf” has become much more aggressive in his style, looking to get on the inside and engage opponents, which has led to his recent success.
However, Lewis Crocker's specialties are stand-up fighting, taking his opponents down and crushing them with powerful hooks and power shots from close range, so it's likely that this approach will be the reason he loses this fight.
Crocker has received heavy backing from DAZN and Matchroom, while Walker was likely chosen for his aggressive style, which Crocker should relish.
We expect the Belfast native to score a stoppage victory on Saturday night, and this fight should be highly entertaining for as long as it lasts.
