2024 New Zealand Swimming Championships

After the swim, Clairvert told Swimming New Zealand in an interview: The game plan was to come out fast and try to hold, and my legs were definitely feeling it. ”
Clairvert started the race strong with an opening 100 split of 54.28. He then clocked six of the remaining seven 50-second runs in the 28-second range, ultimately helping to shave 0.24 seconds off the national record.

No stranger to the international stage, Claire Bart has won several international medals in the IM and butterfly events. Most recently, he won the 400 IM gold medal at the 2024 World Championships in Doha with a time of 4:09.72. He clocked his fastest time of 4:08.70 in that race, the time he recorded en route to his 2022 Commonwealth gold medal.
With this swim, Clairvert now holds three New Zealand long-distance personal records.

In addition to his individual records, Clairbert contributed to three current national records in relay events. Earlier in the competition, he helped the club's 37 teams break the national record for the 4×100 free relay by scoring 48.45 in the 100 free split.
