(June 27) I regularly examine the rankings and female boxer populations in each weight class, but recently I have been wondering about the state of the heavyweight division in 2024. In a previous article, I discussed female boxers who made the top 10 in the heavyweight division despite having fewer fights on the rankings. So let's take a look at the heavyweight division in women's boxing.
Compared to a few years ago, the group of female boxers in the division is definitely much stronger.
So, let's take a look today: Gathering information from other internet ratings, here's what the top 10 looks like: Spoiler alert, it doesn't look like the healthiest division in the sport.
With many of the fighters in this division seeing limited activity, some not even in action for several years, it's clear that there is still progress to be made in developing a vibrant and vibrant heavyweight division for female boxers.
While there are several promising prospects in the division, a thin roster and lack of consistent competition makes it difficult for these athletes to fully showcase their skills and make a significant impact on the sport. So, without further ado, here is our top 10 list.
