LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Saturday means battle of the night here in the Valley, with one of the main events calling Las Vegas home for a while.
Chris Curtis is one of the best middleweights in the world. However, although he makes a living by punching and kicking people, he also has the kindest heart you'll meet in a fighting game.
Curtis, ranked 14th in the rankings, is a master of violence with a record of 31 wins, 10 losses, and one no contest.
That said, he could have followed in the footsteps of his parents and siblings. His parents and siblings are all business owners or in the medical field.
At one point, I dreamed of going to law school. But it was that competitive spirit from his childhood that took him from his school to the Octagon.
“I remember when I was 6 years old and Power Rangers didn't exist yet,” Curtis said. “I remember that all that mattered to me was watching people fight. One day I had to make a decision. I want to spend the rest of my life doing paperwork. Or do you want to go fight people? I’d rather go fight people.”
This weekend, Curtis will face 2021 TKO winner Brendan Allen. But Curtis pretends the fight never happened, he said.
The match is unpredictable and both main eventers have stated that this will be a completely different match.
“Yeah, I lost to that guy,” Allen said. “I was winning until I didn't play that game. That's the reality. He caught me. I feel like I'm better. I think I was better then. I'm definitely better now. I'm just going to test it. ”
“For me, I didn't take the first game into account at all,” Curtis said. “You have to treat it like you've never fought before. I think it's a fool's errand to go in there and think, oh, I've won once. It's going to be the same, otherwise what is he going to do?” I already know what you're trying to do. Like no.'' You never know. ”
The main card of this UFC fight night is set for 3:00 PM PT.
