Columbus, Georgia. – Georgia Tech Christ LamprechtThe recently named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and Byron Nelson Award winner was named Friday to the final watch list for the 2024 Fred Haskins Award, given annually to the nation's top male college golfer. He is one of the 10 golfers nominated.
In college, Lamprecht won the OFC/Fighting Illini Invitational, is a co-medalist at this year's 2023 Ben Hogan College Invitational, and has six top-10 finishes overall. Additionally, Lamprecht placed second at the Water Sound Invitational and tied for third at this spring's ACC Championship. Overall, his average stroke is his 69.13, which challenges the all-time Tech record for a single year.
The senior from George, South Africa, has already been named the recipient of the 2024 Byron Nelson Award. This award is presented to the top senior golfer in the country based on accomplishments over a four-year period on the golf course, academic achievement, and contributions to the community. He is also a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award.
Lamprecht ranks atop the World Amateur Golf Rankings, second in the PGA Tour College Rankings and sixth in the National College Golf Ranking System. He won the 2023 Amateur Championship and won the silver medal as a low amateur at the 151st British Open Championship (T-74). The South African competed in the 2024 Masters Tournament, was part of the international team in the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup, and also competed in the 2023 World Amateur Team Championship, finishing eighth.
Lamprecht aims to join the four Georgia Tech golfers who have previously won the Fred Haskins Award. david duvall (1993), stewart sink (1995), matt kuchar (1998) and bryce mulder (2001).
Voting for the Haskins Award begins Friday. All current Division 1 players, coaches, golf SIDs, past Haskins winners, and college golf media are eligible to vote. Voting will close on Monday, May 27 at the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championships.
The Tech team will return to action next week at the NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship at the Omni LaCosta Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Now in its 54th year, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is presented annually to the top male collegiate golfer in the United States as voted on exclusively by college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past recipients of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have won 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. The award, named in honor of Fred Haskins, is administered by the Haskins Foundation to recognize the top male golfer at the end of the season and to coincide with the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel, which recognizes the top Division I collegiate female golfer.
