Game 2 is here.
It was a thrilling performance by the Knicks in Game 1, highlighted by Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride.
McBride came off the bench and scored 21 points for the Knicks. Brunson reached his usual standard with 22 points.
Meanwhile, Joel Embiid overcame an injury scare for Philadelphia, scoring 29 points in 37 minutes.
Tyrese Maxey continued his breakout season with 33 points for the Sixers.
Can the Knicks continue to get solid contributions off the bench? Or will Embiid and Maxey line up in the series?

What you need to know
Josh Hart's 12-point quarter (19 points in the first 24 minutes) kept the Knicks within four points by halftime, giving the 76ers a 53-49 lead.
Hart hit four 3-pointers and tied the game from beyond the arc in Game 1. The Knicks needed those shots to keep pace with Tyrese Maxey's 20 points and Joel Embiid's 16 points. For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson scored 13 points on four shots. Donte DiVincenzo made 9 of 14 shots.
Joel Embiid appeared to disagree with the foul being called against him, leading to a technical.
Embiid was called for a foul after attempting to block a shot by Donte DiVincenzo and received a technical call after shoving DiVincenzo.
DiVincenzo made all three free throws, but by the time Tom Thibodeau called a timeout a minute later, the 76ers had extended their lead to double digits, 44-34, with 4:21 left in the first half. Ta.
Miles McBride took the first shot of the game on an airball, but helped bring a new spark to the Knicks' offense early in the second quarter.
But the 76ers continued to respond. Tyrese Maxey hit a deep 3-pointer. And that helped maintain the lead, with Philadelphia holding a 36-29 advantage when Nick Nurse called a timeout midway through the frame.
Game 2 starter Tyrese Maxey's three 3-pointers gave the 76ers an early lead that lasted until the end of the opening frame.
A miscommunication between Bojan Bogdanovic and Josh Hart resulted in the Knicks not even making a shot with two seconds remaining, and they were up 25-18 with 12 minutes left. Hart (seven points), Donte DiVincenzo (six points) and Jalen Brunson (five points) accounted for all the points. Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 12 points.
Brunson, who struggled in Game 1 and went 8-of-26, was 2-of-8 on Monday.
At first it looked like a turnover. Another one for the Knicks. However, Jalen Brunson was able to successfully steal the ball from the 76ers trio and continued possession.
One pass later, the ball went to corner Josh Hart, who hit a 3 to put the Knicks ahead 22-16 and prompt a Nick Nurse timeout with 2:03 left in the first quarter. It was Hart's first 3-point shot of Game 2, and he led the Knicks with seven points.
After Isaiah Hartenstein picked up his second foul with 5:19 left in the first quarter, Mitchell Robinson became the first Knicks player to come off the bench and check in.
Joel Embiid grabbed an offensive rebound and drew a foul while attempting a second-chance shot. Hartenstein's first foul came early in the frame when he tried to set a screen on Donte DiVincenzo.
For most of the day, and basically right before the opening tip, Tyrese Maxey's status was uncertain. However, once he was deemed fit and Game 2 began, he wasted no time making a contribution.
He made three straight 3-pointers to start the first quarter and Philadelphia built an early 9-0 lead, but it was 15-9 midway through the opening frame. The Knicks committed three turnovers in the first three minutes, but Donte DiVincenzo, who struggled with just eight points in Game 1, hit two 3s to close the early lead.
The deal was done. The pieces were in place. The Knicks needed to do something because their season was already a disaster. They were between 6 and 15 years old. This was a year after the Knicks came out of the gates dragging in the 2013-14 season, winning 54 games and looking like a true contender in the Eastern Conference. They needed to refresh their deck.
They had names in mind.
Just around December 13, 2023, the Knicks and Raptors began a heated argument. The Knicks' front office (led by Steve Mills after Glenn Granwald was unceremoniously fired after a 54-win season) had serious talks with the Raptors about Kyle Lowry.
Just like in Game 1, the Knicks started Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Isaiah Hartenstein against the 76ers.
Coach Tom Thibodeau used an eight-man rotation for the opening game, with Miles McBride, Mitchell Robinson and Bojan Bogdanovic coming off the bench.
With both stars available, the 76ers' starting lineup for Game 2 remained unchanged.
Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Kyle Lowry, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Tobias Harris started the game between Philadelphia and the Knicks.
When Tom Thibodeau wasn't announced as a finalist for Coach of the Year, Josh Hart defended him in an 'X' post. write“50 wins, 2nd seed, [injured] Even though he was on the roster for half the season, he wasn't nominated for Coach of the Year…
But Thibodeau said in Monday's pregame press conference that Hart, who played nearly 42 of the available 48 minutes in the Knicks' Game 1 win, spoke up because he “probably wants more playing time.” I joked.
The Magic's Jamal Mosley, Thunder's Mark Daigneault and Timberwolves' Chris Finch are the finalists for Coach of the Year.
