The Sacramento Kings hold the No. 13 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, and after the draft consolidation ends, the Kings are starting to get an idea of who they will select in the later lottery. Many experts and fans claim this year's draft class is one of the weakest in recent memory, but there's no doubt the Kings can find a game-changer at 13 years old.
Fox40's Sean Cunningham reported that the Kings met with 10 players at last week's combine, including the UCONN Huskies. C. Donovan ClinganVolunteer, Tennessee G Dalton KnechtDuke Blue Devils G Jared McCainBaylor Bears G Jacobe WalterColorado Buffaloes F. Cody Williamsand the genius of France C Alex Searle.
The Kings should know that a few players won't fall to the 13th pick, such as Alex Sarr, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick, and Donovan Clingan, who is projected to be a top-five pick. By meeting with him, he is preparing for all possibilities.
With Cody Williams potentially being the top player on the Kings board in this draft, some of the prospects named would be a tremendous fit in Sacramento. Sacramento native Jared McCain has been one of the most talked about prospects by Kings fans this year, and bringing the talented sharpshooter home would make him an instant fan favorite.
There will be several talented prospects with the No. 13 pick, but for Sacramento to know who their favorite is is a great sign that they can get the game changer they're looking for.
