AEW EVP Kenny Omega commented on the possibility of a boxing match with a popular WWE star.
While Omega has shown off his athleticism in professional wrestling, some fans would like to see the former AEW World Champion compete in a boxing match.
During a Twitch livestream, Omega spoke about the possibility of competing in a celebrity boxing match.
Omega believes WWE's Xavier Woods will give him a good match and said:
“Who knows? Maybe in the future on some Triller card I'll be boxing someone as a celebrity. I don't know. We'll see, who knows? So if I If I had a real boxing match, who would I want to see me fight? Is there a wrestler you think I could fight in a real boxing match?
“Creed (Xavier Woods)” Actually, do you know? Creed, to be honest, it would be a good match. In fact, I think it would be a really good match…but in an actual shoot boxing match. I think it will be a good fight. I really think so. That would be really good.
“But I don't want to punch him. I hate him, I don't want to punch him. I hate his guts, but I don't want to punch him (Omega jokingly said).
“I don't think he wants to hit me either. I don't think that's going to happen. I don't think that's going to happen.”
Woods and Omega have battled online in the past, most notably in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition when Elite and New Day faced off at E3 2018.
Kenny Omega has been sidelined since December 2023, when he was hospitalized with diverticulitis.
