Pop icon Kelly Clarkson is heading to Paris to host the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, along with football star Peyton Manning and veteran NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico.
“We've been putting this on hold for a long time,” Clarkson said, expressing his excitement to finally announce the news.
The trio will anchor the live kickoff, scheduled to air on NBC and Peacock on July 26 at noon ET.
“The opening ceremony will be completely different and unique,” said Tirico, who has hosted the opening ceremony four times. “We go down the Seine, we put the players on boats and we take them down the river. So it's not the stadium that they're walking into.”
As previously announced, Snoop Dogg will provide commentary throughout various events at the Olympics. He will begin commentary on July 26 and will visit landmarks around the city, participate in various competitions and meet with athletes and their families. Fans can expect the rapper, who is a fan of the game himself, to bring his own “Snoop style” to the mix.

Even though there are still six months until the Olympics, prices for tickets, accommodation and transport have risen to new highs. Tickets, which promise to put guests at the center of the action, are mostly available at an eye-watering price of 2,700 euros ($2,930) each. The most highly anticipated events, such as gymnastics and diving, will be the most difficult to obtain without paying big bucks. Spectator-popular events such as the men's 10m platform and the women's gymnastics final can be had for 875 euros. 1,799 euros each.
More tickets will be available on April 17th when the Olympic Games' official resale platform goes live, so those who weren't able to get tickets before may still have a chance.
