Following the news that legendary head coach Nick Saban will step down as leader of the Alabama Crimson Tide football program, several players have decided it is time to leave Tuscaloosa. One player to keep an eye on is offensive tackle Kadin Proctor.
After just a few months with his hometown Iowa Hawkeyes, Proctor changed his mind and announced his intention to return to the Capstone to play for new Alabama football coach Karen DeBoer.
On Tuesday, Coach DeBoer discussed returning Proctor to Alabama's roster.
“He was a guy that was going to play a big role in our program, and to lose him and now have him back is huge for us,” DeBoer said Tuesday night at an event in Yea, Ala. “I think he's done a great job of getting back in touch with his friends and most importantly his teammates, and he's excited to be back here training with us this summer.”
As a freshman in the class of 2023, Proctor started all 14 games for the Crimson Tide en route to being named to the All-SEC Freshman Team.
With Proctor back, Alabama is likely to lock down four of the five starting offensive line spots, with competition still available at right tackle.
