Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White posted a tweet earlier this week dissing UFC 300, calling it a no-brainer for the “Pereira vs. Hill” fight card that took place on April 13 in Las Vegas. The criticism was ridiculed by the MMA media.

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman suggests the media got what it deserved.
“He's just going to go and show once again that there's a reason he's the best promoter,” Usman said on the Pound 4 Pound podcast (transcribed by MMA News). “There's a reason I'm the best promoter. Let me show you the numbers here. Everyone was like, (expletive) about UFC 300, 'Oh, this isn't what we want, we But the numbers don't lie, and Dana wanted to put you, us, front and center with the numbers. To. Dana was like, “You guys don't know what you're talking about, you guys are stuck on sitting on the couch talking while I'm stuck on having a great game.” Yeah, Dana definitely beat the media 10-7 in that game.”
Usman is currently on a three-fight losing streak and seems to be aiming for another title shot.
White has long been at odds with the MMA media, claiming that “all of those assholes are a bunch of unprofessional assholes and they're all horrible.”
He might be right.
Unfortunately for White, he is stuck with us because despite the UFC's financial success, it is still unable to attract “real” media. Maybe it's because veteran reporters and seasoned journalists are too busy covering legitimate stories to pay attention to trash like this.
