Josh Warrington's boxing promotional debut will be broadcast live on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel next month.
The two-time featherweight world champion's fighting career may not be over yet, but he's already started planning for life after retirement.
Warrington has joined the board of his long-time manager Steve Wood's promotional company VIP Boxing and will play a role in the big fight night in his hometown of Leeds on July 13.
Warrington's gym mates, super featherweight Levi Smith and welterweight knockout king Travis Waters, will headline the action alongside Hush Lehmann, Jake Goodwin and debutant Jody Wilkinson.
Conor Lawrence and Roan Stanley will also feature, as will Doncaster's Jamie Mellors.
“Well, a boxing career doesn't last forever,” Warrington said Friday, explaining Whyte and Jordan.
“I dread the day I have to retire, but when that day comes I need to start planning.
“I think I've seen enough contracts and been to enough promotion and management meetings.
“I want to pass on that knowledge to the next generation and my manager, Steve Wood, has given me a great opportunity to be involved with the company.
“I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and am now dabbling in it a bit.
“Steve is a great manager and a great promoter. He's taken me from small venues to arena shows.”
“With my youth, I can help you with that.”
Wood said: “Josh has been loyal to me from day one and I would be thrilled if VIP Promotions can help him get his start and potentially take over from me one day.”
“Josh was interested in the business side of boxing so it's no surprise he wanted to be a promoter. He's a wealth of boxing knowledge.”
“Josh has been clamoring for a show in Leeds since joining the VIP board and this will be the first of many in his hometown.
“Bringing talkSPORT on board marks a landmark moment for VIP Brands and our team – we can't wait for 13 July.”
“talkSPORT is the biggest player in the industry and their content is unrivalled – it's a fantastic opportunity for VIP Brands.”
