Joaquin Buckley crashes UFC 300 presser to claim main event slot and gets hilariously shut down by Dana White

The UFC 300 pre-fight presser was a special occasion to say the least! For the first time in the company's history, all fighters scheduled to compete on the card were in attendance and available. This is a testament to the star power of the event, as even the earliest “prelim” matches could end up being Apex headliners on another night. There were some big announcements in the press today (April 11, 2024) including some additional juicy bonuses and Mark Coleman receiving the honor of presenting the BMF belt.

With so many fighters sharing the stage, perhaps there was room for one more? No. 11 welterweight Joaquin Buckley saw an opportunity in the spotlight! He joined the line to ask a very public question to UFC CEO Dana White, and the UFC St. requested a main event slot (for the second time). 11, 2024.

“Dana, one more question,” Buckley began. “What? I haven't seen you in a while, New Mantha in the building! Everyone in the audience told me they're all coming back to St. Louis and the main event is everyone knows Derrick Lewis. In fact, the crowd cheered very strongly in support of Buckley's request. White himself chuckled, but rather than directly acknowledge Buckley's question, he quickly removed himself from the scene.

White responded, “Thank you for coming today. See you at the weigh-in.”

Can't you try knocking a guy? The UFC St. Louis card is currently…not great…the presence of Joaquin Buckley against another welterweight ranked opponent will only improve the card!
